iDiD software displays scheduled content using the cache memory of the player device, which means that losing the connection to internet does not affect displaying locally stored image and video content. However, displaying html content that is updated from online sources will be discontinued if the player device loses connection to the internet. Furthermore, adding new content or edits to the existing ones cannot be updated on the displays if the internet connection is lost. This is why it may be beneficial, particularly in larger organizations, to monitor the online status of the players.

By subscribing to receive offline notifications, you will get an automated email when a player on or below your account level has not contacted the server for a minimum of 2 hours.

Players in management

To view the network connections of your players, select Players from the menu on the left. You will see all players that exist at the level that your account is at or lower. The iDiD content management system is installed on the player computer, which takes care of retrieving the content from the server and displaying it on the screen. As a general rule, each monitor has its own player, but a single player can also control multiple monitors to display identical content.

If you want, you can also see the network connections for the players in the home menu. The view shows all players that exist at the level that your account is at or below.
